BHIS (Behavioral Health Intervention)

Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) is a voluntary, home-based skill building program for children and teens to help them learn to make healthy and positive choices. The in home BHIS worker engages with children and families to build upon skills that improve day-to-day life. The goal is to focus on children and families to improve their communication, manage unhealthy behaviors, and build stronger relationships. 

Skills focused on in BHIS sessions included:

-Anger management

-Coping

-Decision-Making

-Communication

-Problem-Solving

-Conflict resolution

-Relationship-Building.
